Don’t let your dreams of exploring the world die just because you don’t know anyone interested in joining you. Your spouse, family and friends may have other ideas on how to spend their money and free time, but you will never regret satisfying your own curiosity about the fabulous world we live in. Just do it – go discover the distant lands, experience the cities, history, culture, nature, cuisine, learn and make friends with people all over the world. You will certainly become the most interesting person at the next get together with your family and friends or at your place of work, but above all, you will have many exciting memories for the rest of your life.

As a single traveler and specially if you are a woman, you need to consider the safety and comfort of your destination with thought. Keeping up with the news and checking the US State Department’s travel information site at http://travel.state.gov/travel/travel_1744.html will give you travel and security information in different countries. Some of the best places to travel independently are the Scandinavian countries and Finland. We have a list of independent tours to Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland to choose from and keep in mind that you can have any trip customized to your liking. Private tours to any country are also an option, but get to be very expensive for one person alone.

The best option for a solo traveler is, however, an escorted group tour for many reasons. You can safely choose any destination, you will have a planned itinerary and professional tour guides taking you to the most important sites in comfort and you will get best value for your money. The most important of all is that you will never have to feel uncomfortable going to a place or dinner alone, because you are in company of like minded people and most likely make lifelong friends as well.

Explore the World Tours has a great collection of escorted tour, and if you don’t find one that you would like on our website, please contact us and we are happy to find you one by an other tour company.

This summer’s best and safest travel destinations are Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) andFinland. As the world is in turmoil, many travelers tend to shy away from certain countries and choose to vacation in Northern Europe instead. The peaceful existence in Scandinavia is not the only reason. There are many more reasons to visit and the summer months, June, July and August are definitely the best. Scandinavia and Finland are great family destinations, too.

Get a glimpse of the 4 happiest countries in the world. When you see the lifestyle, standard of living, nature, clean cities and smiling, friendly faces, you will understand. Discover the different cultures and peoples, long history of the Vikings in Sweden, Denmark and Norway and the influence of both Sweden and Russia in Helsinki, whose position has served as the window to the east and the stronghold of the west.

It is easy to discover Scandinavia and Finland on an Independent Tour and modern day comforts of public transportation will make your trip easy and pleasurable.’

Continue your tour to Russia or the Baltic States – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. which are best discovered on an Escorted tour. In Russia we highly recommend a Private Tour because there is so much to see and getting around in St. Petersburg or Moscow and various places of interest is not easy on your own. On a Private Tour you can make sure that you will visit the places that you are interested in.

Once you make the trip to Northern Europe, why not see as much as possible. The best way is to choose one of our Escorted Tours.

If you don’t feel comfortable traveling alone to a foreign country and want to relax and enjoy your trip without any hassles, we suggest an Escorted Tour. You will get a thorough educational experience on an Escorted Tour in any country because you will have the benefit of having a well planned itinerary and a professional tour leader and local guides taking you to the most important sights and many other places you might not have time to visit on your own. You never have to feel alone as you will travel with a group of people with same interest and make many new friends. You will have ample time to explore the places on your own as well. Another major benefit with Escorted Tours is the fact that you are able to get a good value for your money and being able to plan and manage your budged better in advance. We suggest that you check and compare the tours carefully to see what is included and what is not. Some inexpensive tours may sound tempting, but do not include any meals and sightseeing tours and entrance fees may be extra.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Athens, Greece

Time to rest or to start exploring the Hellenic capital. At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director, then enjoy this evening’s welcome dinner with your traveling companions. (Dinner)

Day 2 Athens–Thessalonika

Journey north to Thessalonika. Enjoy guided sightseeing of this city, named after Alexander the Great’s sister and which figures prominently in the New Testament, at which time this provincial capital was considered a world cultural center. This community was the center of Paul’s activities in northern Greece. It is where he preached and founded a church and to whom he wrote two epistles (Acts 17:1-9, 1 Thessalonians, and 2 Thessalonians). (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 3 Thessalonika. Excursion to Philippi and Kavala

Full-day excursion along the ancient route of Apostle Paul to Amphipolis (Acts 17:1). Journey to ancient Philippi, which was named after Alexander the Great’s father. This busy Roman colony boasted a great library and theater. In Philippi, Paul preached and established the first church in Europe, which was to whom he wrote one of his epistles while imprisoned in Rome (Acts 16:11-40; Philippians). It was here that Paul met Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She and her household accepted Christ and were baptized in the nearby river (Acts 16:11-15). Next, continue to Kavala, ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:9-11). (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4 Thessalonika–Veria–Kalambaka

This morning, stop in Veria (Beroea of the New Testament), where Paul and Silas were sent by friends after being accused of treason in Thessalonika (Acts 17:5-15). Visit the BEMA OF APOSTLE PAUL, where Paul is said to have stood and preached the Gospel to the local community. Continue to Kalambaka. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5 Kalambaka–Meteora–Athens

In Meteora, visit VARLAAM and ST. STEPHEN’S MONASTERIES. Situated atop vast rocks, the 14th-century monasteries compose one of the most breathtaking sites in the world. Inside the monasteries, discover many historical and religious treasures. Return to Athens. (Breakfast)

Day 6 Athens–Piraeus (Embarkation)–Mykonos

Begin your 3-night Greece and Turkey CRUISE with a visit to the mountainous island of Mykonos. Free time to explore the island before returning to the ship for evening entertainment. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7 Kusadasi, Turkey–Patmos, Greece

Visit the Turkish port of Kusadasi and enjoy an included excursion to the RUINS OF EPHESUS, whose inhabitants were the recipients of Apostle Paul’s famous epistle (Acts 18:19-26; Ephesians) and which was once the capital of the Roman province of Asia. Also visit the House of Mary, where the Virgin Mary is said to have spent her last days. Continue your cruise to Patmos, the “Jerusalem of the Aegean,” where you can enjoy an included excursion to the MONASTERY OF ST. JOHN and to the CAVE OF THE APOCALYPSE, where John the Evangelist wrote the Book of the Revelation during his exile (Rev. 1:9-11). (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8 Santorini

This morning dock at Santorini, the “Black Pearl of the Aegean.” The optional shore excursion is available to the cliff-top village of Thera for one of the world’s most breathtaking panoramas. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 9 Piraeus, Greece (Disembarkation)–Corinth-Athens

Disembark and continue to Corinth for a guided visit of the EXCAVA TIONS where Apostle Paul worked for 18 months with tent makers Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:1-18). Return to Athens for sightseeing with a Local Guide. Visit the ACROPOLIS with the Parthenon and AREOPAGUS, where Paul delivered his famous sermon about the identity of “the Unknown God” (Acts 17:15-34). Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel.

This year’s most popular destination is China. The selection of our 2012 China Tours gives you the best choices and prices for your vacation to this most enchanting, exotic and diverse country. There is something exiting to for everyone from children to seniors to discover; modern mega cities like Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, ancient history of thousands of years, scenic beauty , cultural events and interesting tribes and busy business people of modern society.

Some of the most popular tours are:

Beijing – Xi’an – Shanghai

Beijing – Xi’an – Yangtze Cruise – Shanghai

Beijing – Xi’an – Lhasa – Yangtze Cruise – Shanghai

Beijing – Xi’an – Guilin – Yangshuo – Shanghai

The best way to discover China is by taking a private tour – just you and your party, a private guide in a private car and your choice of sightseeing and hotels. China is a place where you really need a good guide as you will not be able to easily get around by yourself, due to language and signs, transportation etc. You will not easily find even a taxi driver who speaks English specially outside of major cities.

A private tour will give you freedom and time to discover the many wonders of China at your own pace, no crowded buses with tour guides you cannot hear and no rushing through the interesting places you want to explore, no waiting for fellow travelers who seem to always be late.

You can choose from one of our suggested itineraries, customize the tour to your wishes and budget or plan the tour of our very own. The cost of a private tour is reasonable and actually a bargain compared to private tours in other countries. However, if you wish to join a set day group tour, we have very inexpensive choices for you as well.

Your experience of the lifetime is waiting!
